Where did the two of you get married?
Tobias: To be exact, in an elevator (laughs).
Selda: That's not the whole story! It was a very special elevator: the glass elevator at the AquaDom in Berlin. It's is the world's biggest cylindrical aquarium with a total height of 16 meters.
Tobias: Selda and I love diving. Coral reefs, fish of all colors, sea turtles, etc. – we love it! When we thought about how to get married, the idea came up to do it under water …
Selda: But only for a moment. For me, it was clear that my parents had to be part of it. Not to mention that I don't want to be wearing a wetsuit in my wedding pictures.

Did the two of you really get married in a soccer stadium?
Oliver: Yes! We did. Not right on the field, of course (laughs), but the stadium has a small chapel for weddings. And that's where we got married.
Steffi: There's a whole story to it. I'm not a big soccer fan myself. But when my big brother asked me to go to a major international match, I went along as I had nothing better to do anyways. It turned out that he had a good friend with him who wanted to get to know me …
Oliver: Let me chime in here. Steffi was two rows in front of me on the fan bus. I knew your brother from around town, so I chatted him up and that's how we got to talking. I was happy to find out that Tom was your brother and that the other guy wasn't your boyfriend either.

Your wedding was quite different. Can you tell us about it?
Annika: What made it different was our idea to throw a surprise party! Antje told everyone it was a birthday party and asked people to bring salad and cake.
Antje: We rented the club house of the rowing club by the lake. The guests couldn't believe it when they arrived. We had set up to benches facing the lake and two chairs at the end for us. Our master of ceremony welcomed everyone.
Annika: And because most people are not punctual for birthday parties, I had sent a WhatsApp message saying that it was a surprise party. So everyone was on time.

The bride and groom in Denmark kiss not only each other on their wedding day: According to tradition, any guest is allowed to kiss the bride or groom as long as they are not in the same room.
In France, auctioning off the garter is one of the more amusing wedding traditions. The bride takes center stage and pulls up her skirt inch by inch. The male guests offer money for every inch the skirt is pulled up, and the female guests counter it. The person who made the last offer before the garter appears gets to keep it.
